10 very early UFO photos ever taken

Here are some of the most compelling old UFO pics.

1. Mt Washington, New Hampshire 1870

This photograph depicts a cloud formation over the summit of Mt. Washington in the Winter of 1870-1871. The image is part of an antique stereoview that happens to contain an unexplained cigar-shaped object. This photo is the oldest UFO photograph ever taken. This was originally a ''stereo'' photograph. Certainly it was difficult to manipulate photos at that time, and remember, there were no flying objects then and no digital manipulation. (Source)

2. Vancouver City Hall UFO - 1937

21-year-old soldier Leonard Lamoreux took the photo in 1937 while he and his brother were visiting the newly built Vancouver City Hall and its Christmas light display.

Here's the full description of the event:

''The two were suddenly astounded to see a ''bright bright blue light'' drop straight down from the sky. It became larger as it did so and they were able to observe the source of the light as an object that Leonard described as ''two saucers'' open ends facing each other, glowing bright blue. The object then moved ''dead straight'' horizontally across the sky. When it just appeared to clear the flagpole on the roof of the City Hall it came to an almost dead stop and Leonard clicked the shutter on the camera. The object then shot straight back up into the sky. ''They never seen anything fly so fast!'' This scared them to death and they ran from the scene. The object made no sound.

The negative for the photo no longer exists, which adds fuel to skeptics who question wether this was just ''watermark defect that appeared during the development of the print.''(Source)

Young Japanese student Masujiro Kiryu, going through his fathers scrapbook of photographs from the China Campaign, just before War World II, discovered a strange cone-shaped object in the sky above a Tsientsien street. A number of people in the street are looking up and two are pointing up at the object. A sidewalk photographer snapped a picture of the strange machine and his father bought it from the street vendor for a souvenir of the place.(Source)

4. Farming UFO Photo, USA - 1920s

The only thing known about this picture is that it was taken somewhere in the United States in the early 1920s. The hilly terrain indicates that it could be on either the west or east coast, and is less likely in the central flat part of the country.(Source)

5. Ward, Colorado Sawmill, USA - April, 1929

Object that preceded a ''terrible thunderous bellow''. (Photo Source)

INCIDENT AT THE WARD SAWMILL

''This photo was taken by my father Edward Pline at the sawmill in Ward where we lived at the time, I think it was 1929. I was about six years old then. My father was there to photograph the sawmill for some reason or another, and as he was taking the photo, he described a ''terrible thunderous bellow'', and a large round thing as big as a very large boulder that moved through the air above them. You can see it in the picture. None of the sawmill workers saw the thing in the photo, but they all heard the sound and felt the ground shudder. Later in my life I tried researching the incident at the County Historical Society, but I did not find any references to it. My father passed on a few years after the incident, and I have not found any surving sawmill workers from that time.'' (Source)

Photograph was taken by a well respected member of South African society. Her husband was a major in the South African Air Force, and Elizabeth worked for Air Force Intelligence. Seven photographs were taken in all. There were also two witnesses to the taking of the photos. Taken in the foothills of the Drakensburg Mountain, and so-dubbed the Drakensberg photos. If these are real, they are extremely impressive. She never changed her story. She died in 1994, at the age of 83.

7. Foo Fighters UFO Photo - WWII (1942-45)

The so called foo fighters were fairly common in the Atlantic and the Pacific during WWII, they were bright lights the seemingly flew just in front of or along side aircraft, particularly fighter craft but not confined to fighters. When the pilots attempted to chase or follow them they would rapidly disappear. While this was not a common occurence it did happen on many occasions, there are even incidences of the foo fighter coming along side war ships.(Source)

Only a few months after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, on the 25th of February 1942 at 02:25 am, alarm sirens installed in the event of another invasion began.
Unknown flying objects are seen and announced in the sky of the city. A blackout is declared and the anxious, terrified inhabitants follow the instructions by turning all their lights off.
At 03:16 am, anti-aircraft guns open fire on the unidentified flying objects coming from the ocean, and projector beams are searching the sky. Witnesses observe small objects flying at high altitude, of red or silver-plated color, moving in formation at high speed, and untouched by the AAA salvos.
This large object was hit by many AAA projectiles, according to the reports. The anti-aircraft defence continued to shoot the UFOs without results.
This is one of the most famous UFO photographs ever taken.
