Date of sighting: September 15, 2016
Location of sighting: Houston, Texas, United States
Viewers across the area reported seeing big blue streaks across the eastern sky early Thursday.
KHOU 11 Meteorologist Chita Craft says the streaks are anti-crepuscular (or anti-solar) rays. The rays are a reflection from off-shore showers.
''They are most common during sunrise,'' says Craft. ''Makes for beautiful and interesting photos!''
